Three star rated Carnarvon Dale once provided lodgings for travellers, whose journeys had been halted by the flooded Bushmans River. In that same tradition of hospitality, Roger and Maryan Hart welcome guests to their 1820 Settler farmhouse, the Bottom House, and the 1907 Edwardian Top House, which offer comfortable, owner-managed accommodation in en-suite, serviced bedrooms. There is an inviting swimming pool to cool off in.
Carnarvon Dale, graded 3 stars, offers wildlife enthusiasts 5-star game drives on Amakhala and also on Shamwari Game Reserve, the latter exclusively and by private arrangement.

Carnarvon Dale consists of the Settler farmhouse, the Bottom House, and an elegantly restored early Edwardian cottage, the Top House. There is a choice of three ensuite serviced bedrooms with private lounges meeting three star grading requirements. A family suite is available on request.

Take the N2 from Port Elizabeth to Grahamstown. Approximately 68 kilometres turn left at the Carnavon Dale signposted entrance
